Rio Tinto Australia-Japan Collaboration Program

The Rio Tinto Australia-Japan Collaboration Program is the first program established by the Foundation for Australia-Japan Studies. The Program has been funded by Rio Tinto Group for the purpose of contributing to the Australia-Japan bilateral relationship through education and research collaboration between academia, industry and government, particularly in the areas of science, technology and innovation.

The Program is carried out by the Rio Tinto Professorial Fellow (the Rio Tinto Fellow), whose role is to identify and promote bilateral collaborative research and other activities to be funded under the Program.

The inaugural Rio Tinto Fellow, Professor Jenny Corbett, has been appointed for 2018-2020 and is seconded by the Griffith University Asia Institute to the School of Engineering at The University of Tokyo (see 2018 Rio Tinto Fellow for details).
