The Griffith Asia Institute

The Griffith Asia Institute (GAI) is an internationally recognised research centre that aims to lead academic and public debate about Australia’s region.

Building on Griffith University’s long tradition of Asian studies, the Institute produces interdisciplinary research on key economic, political and cultural developments in contemporary Asia and the South Pacific.

In addition to its remarkable research, it facilitates wide-reaching engagement through a number of high-profile dialogues, public lectures, seminars and publications. By promoting knowledge of this changing region and its importance to our future, it aims to inform and foster academic scholarship, public awareness and considered and responsive policy making.
